The work
A short piece (in Chinese social media via Chinese FT website ) which is a very enlightening dialogue among social media users in China, commenting on the news that a Swedish art collector is donating his collection to Hong Kong instead of China. It also mentions Chinese people's feelings towards the Chinese artists such as Ai Weiwei and Zhang Xiao Gang, and their views towards foreigners' appreciation of Chinese art. It's another world!
The artist
Originally from Hong Kong and currently based in London, Jennifer is a poet, Chinese translator and Magma Poetry magazine administrator. She was writer in residence at Lingnan University Hong Kong in 2012. Her first collection is Summer Cicadas published by Chameleon Press. Her next collection, The Foreign, will be published by Salmon Poetry.
